Our Facilities

Welcome to The Stainton Institute, a versatile Grade 2 listed venue offering a range of high-quality facilities to meet your needs. Our building is thoughtfully designed with three distinct spaces: a spacious main hall, a modern kitchen, and convenient cloak and toilet areas. Main Hall

(10.6m x 5.45m) 35'x 18' approx

The floor of the main room has an oak wooden floor with a temperature controlled underfloor heating system. There are sufficient tables and chairs available to accommodate 60 people sitting comfortably at functions and events and space for upwards of 80 people standing.

Original 17th Century oak truss beams are a feature inside the light and airy main hall vaulted interior. Thermal blackout roller blinds are in situ on all windows and can be adjusted depending on the type of activity taking place. There are 3 forms of internal lighting in the main hall to suit all purposes of those using the hall for whatever event is taking place.

Free B4RN superfast broadband internet access is available for all users as required.There are 10 large strong folding tables and 2 smaller tables, all with protective tablecloths, if required. More tables and chairs can be made available as needed. All users are expected to remove all rubbish, stow furniture after use so that it is left in a clean and tidy state for other users.Toys and books are available for children to use during hall hire.

Kitchen

The Institute provides a new, well equiped kitchen complete with 2 Bosch electric ovens, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and a full range of cupboards complete with drinking glassware, kettles, cooking pans and bins etc. Users of the building will be expected to take away all rubish used during their use of the facilities. Situated adjacent to the kitchen is a table of refreshments for users of the building

Cloaks area

Cloaks space houses folding chairs and hanging space for coats.

Toilet

Disabled toilet and washbasin includes a pull down alarm for emergencies and automatic pir light and extractor. The toilet area also includes baby changing facilities and a first aid cupboard. Access to loft area is available for storage purposes via a drop down ladder.

Parking

There is adequate parking space to accommodate those travelling by transport for anyone hiring the Institute building and it’s facilities. Parking is gained via access through a wide field metal gate with parking directly behind the Institute building. Direct access from field to the building is via a wooden gate, ambulant steps to the disabled ramp and into the building. The parking area has a non slip recycled plastic matting which allows grass to grow through retaining it’s rural setting but allowing for a solid surface on which to park. External lights are in place for darker nights and the steps also have appropriate automatic safety lighting to guide visitors.
