Past Events at the Stainton Institute

Throughout the year, we host a variety of community events that bring friends and neighbours together while raising essential funds to support the upkeep of our beloved village hall. Below, you’ll find highlights from some of our fantastic gatherings last year.

Cheese & Wine Evening with Quiz Night

A wonderful evening of fine cheeses, delicious wines, and friendly competition. Guests enjoyed tasting a selection of wines paired with a cheese supper, followed by a lively wine quiz to test their knowledge.

We raised an incredible £750 profit, including £175 from the raffle—a fantastic increase on last year’s total.

We are so grateful for your generosity. As a non-profit charity, all proceeds from events like this go directly towards covering our hall’s running costs, including utilities, maintenance, insurance, and safety checks.

It took a week to recover, but we are already looking forward to the next one.

Annual Duck Race

A favourite tradition in Stainton. Families and friends gathered for a fun-filled day, cheering on their ducks as they raced along the stream. Laughter, excitement, and community spirit were in full flow, making it another unforgettable event.

The day was filled with great entertainment and plenty of friendly competition. Thank you to everyone who joined in, sponsored ducks, and supported the event.

Quiz Night & Hot Pot Supper

What better way to spend an evening than with a classic quiz and a hearty hot pot supper? Teams put their general knowledge to the test while enjoying a delicious meal, making for a brilliant social night.

A massive thank you to all our quiz-goers, our brilliant quizmasters, and the volunteers who helped with food preparation and service. Your support helps us keep these community events running and ensures that Stainton Institute remains a welcoming space for all.
